Our Service
Helpful Hands Playgroup currently has up to 12 places per session for children aged 2-4 years.
We Operate Monday-Friday, 9.15-11.10 term time only.
Fees are £8 per session. To ensure high quality care there must be a high adult to child ratio. This means that we have to pay staff weather your child attends the session or not. All sessions must be paid for even if the child does not attend. This ensures that your child’s place is secured. Two weeks notice is required when your child leaves. We aim to maintain our fees at an affordable level and to do that it is important that fees are paid promptly. Fees are to be paid weekly, on the first day your child attends and in cash. If persistent non fees are received your child's contract will be terminated.

9.15 am Children arrive. They are encouraged to say goodbye to parents/carers at the door and hang their coat and bag up on their own pegs. They are taken over to the board where they must find their name and pop it on the 'Who's in today board'. This helps prepare them for 'Big School'
9.15-10.15 am Children are settled at activities where they can explore play and learn. They have the choice to explore what ever activities they choose. This gives them independence and confidence.
10.15-10.30 am Children are encouraged to sing the 'Tidy up time' song and help to tidy up the toys. They are then encouraged to wash their hands and sit down ready for snack. This again prepares them for snack time in 'Big School'.
10.30-11.00 am After Snack new activities are set up for the children to explore, learn and play with. They have the choice to explore what ever activities they wish. Weather permitted we go outside to play.
11.00-11.10 am Children are encouraged to sing the 'Tidy up time' song and help to tidy up the toys again. We then all gather around the mat area in which we have a story, sing songs, have a dance or do 'Learning time'. This involves flash cards, discussion time about the weather, day of the week etc and counting, singing the alphabet and other educational activities. We then sing our 'Goodbye' song and all children get given stickers.
Children are then encouraged to find their coats and bags and are encouraged to help to put them on before they go home.
